How Apocalyptic-Type Events Are Reshaping Our World. The number of armed conflicts in 2023 was the most we’ve seen in a single year since World War II ended. The number of people facing acute food insecurity last year was the highest ever recorded. Last year, the world was hit by more “billion-dollar disasters” than ever, and we may top that number this year. So far in 2024, there have already been 11 “billion-dollar disasters” in the U.S. alone. Also, many pestilences are causing major problems all over the globe right now.
Indifference Toward Israel and Bible Prophecy Wields Dangerous Ramifications. Some of our nation’s most prominent Christian leaders just can’t get it right on Bible prophecy or Israel. Eschatology (part of theology concerned with death, judgment, and the final destiny of the soul and of humankind) has vanished from our pulpits in recent decades because it’s “divisive,” “confusing,” and might drive away today’s “seekers.” The message that “the King is coming” doesn’t fit into today’s “feel good” theology. II Thessalonians says there will be a great “falling away” from sound doctrine in the last days.
