This Old Testament scripture from the book of Isaiah jumps off of the pages in full view of anyone paying attention to world events here in the year 2024.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
It is a warning from God our Creator, through the prophet Isaiah to the world. These words were written a little over 2,700 years ago.
Because of the modern media combined with the state of the world, this scripture is being quoted more often and becoming more well-known, as well as it should.
This warning to the world has been regularly dismissed and rejected by the rebellious and the unrepentant down through the centuries, and always to their own peril.
Now, with the population of the world up around 8 billion in spite of, at least so far, the evil globalist Agenda 2030 to depopulate down to a more manageable 500 million by the end of the decade, the Isaiah 5:20 verse has been dismissed and/or ignored by such vast numbers of the godless that the results are on full display here in these the last days.
The end times.
These times that are so much like the times of Noah and the days of Lot. Millions of humans are behaving like the ones described in Genesis 6, just before the flood. People thinking about and practicing evil constantly and as a way of life.
Also, godless people acting just like the ones Paul described to Timothy when speaking of the end times in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5.
Here is the list of bad character traits that Paul gave to Timothy concerning the last days, the days we are now living in. The days that are so much like the days of Noah and the days of Lot.
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- having a form of godliness but denying it’s true power.”
And these last days are so much like in the days of Lot when the homosexuals were not content with anything less than attempting to force themselves and their depraved ways upon even angels.
Today, having acquired a great deal of money and much power in the political realms, they who have hijacked the rainbow and stolen the word gay (which used to mean happy) have shoved their agenda into everyone’s face and seek to shame and silence any and all who disagree with them.
Many of those who now hold the reins of power on a global scale are either homosexual or pedophiles or both and are fully committed to being exactly what Isaiah warned against. They seek to legislate these vile sins as normal behavior.
To them, homosexuality and pedophilia are good, and opposition to these sins is evil.
To them, people who fight for the right to commit these sins are heroes to be praised, and those who fight for decency are evil road blockers to the progressive agenda and are even portrayed as domestic terrorists.
They have actually said, and even chanted at some of their “pride” events and parades, “We are coming for your children,” and they might as well say to the mothers and fathers, how dare you try and protect your precious children against ravenous deviant morally bankrupt sexual monsters?
The godless evil globalist spawns of Satan are and have been for some time influencing millions and millions of naïve and/or godless individuals to view the world 180 degrees opposite of how Jesus would have them view it, thus fulfilling the words of Isaiah 5:20 on a massive scale.
This backward, upside-down, inside-out worldview is peddled 24/7 through social media, the news media, the entertainment and sports industries, and national and international corporations that are either owned outright by members of the evil global cabal or are heavily pressured and/or bribed into compliance.
And, in the last couple of generations, especially through the education systems, the Marxist-run colleges in particular have brainwashed tens of thousands of young, naïve, and highly impressionable young people into their abominable worldview that fits the description of Isaiah 5:20.
Even now, they are attempting to brainwash children as young as four or five in public government-run schools and libraries with a pro-LGBTQ curriculum and drag-queen reading sessions. Young, innocent children are being taught to question the gender they were born with, to experiment with any and all sexual behavior, and even to believe that they are animals.
We see examples of this inside-out satanic way of thinking everywhere in the world of 2024, and it all can be traced back to the Garden of Eden.
Yes, all the way back to when Lucifer, the original rebel, in the form of a serpent, talked Eve into eating of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and told her that she would not surely die, as God had told Adam, but rather that she could become like God if she ate that forbidden fruit.
But Lucifer lied.
Eve was truly naïve. Eating of the forbidden fruit (forbidden by God Himself) and sharing it with Adam did not lead to Eve or to Adam becoming like God.
Instead, it led to them being removed from the Garden of Eden and to them entering into a fallen state of being. It led to a spiritual death and then to a physical death, just as God had said it would. There are consequences to embracing the lies of Lucifer.
By believing that lie of Lucifer, Eve and Adam were essentially calling God, who had given them life, a liar. But God is not even capable of lying, and there are consequences to calling Him that.
In the first 1,600 plus years of human existence on Earth, right up to the flood of Noah’s time, nearly every single human had succumbed to this reprobate, Isaiah 5:20 way of thinking and behaving. Enoch was the rare exception, as well as the first person ever raptured, and that was hundreds of years before Isaiah issued the ominous prophetic message.
Isaiah had quite a bit of history to look back on when he was led by God to proclaim that message. He began the warning with the words “Woe unto those.”
Except for Noah and his family, the entire population of Earth perished in the flood and experienced in a most horrific way the literal meaning of the words, “Woe unto those who call evil good and good evil.”
Would they who perished in the flood have heeded this warning had it been issued earlier in history?
Would the people of Sodom and Gomorrah have changed their behavior had they heard the message framed in these terms?
We will never know the exact answer to those questions, but we do know this: Ever since the prophecy was declared by the prophet Isaiah, a little over seven hundred years before Jesus first appeared on Earth as the Lamb of God, relatively few people have heeded it, and a multitude of people have ignored it.
It fits with what Jesus said about the multi-lane highway to Hell being wide and well-traveled and the road to heaven being narrow with very few sojourners by comparison.
The road to heaven is less popular with the many because it requires repentance. A penitent heart.
Believing in Jesus, repenting and being forgiven, picking up our cross, and following in the footsteps of the Messiah all go hand in hand.
The highway to Hell is packed with sinners who love to sin and want to keep on sinning with no restrictions. If possible, without any guilt trips or interference whatsoever.
Many are even willing to fight for their right to party.
To make matters worse, Satan/Lucifer has deceived countless sinners into believing that Hell will just be one big, endless party.
Who hasn’t heard someone say, “I would rather party with my friends in Hell than be bored out of my mind while sitting on a cloud playing a harp in Heaven.” Or “I would rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven.”
If those who think in such a way and say such things were to study the Word of God, aka the Bible, they would learn that not only will Hell not be any kind of a party at all, but also that no one is going to rule there, including Satan.
They would discover that Hell itself is going to be tossed into the Lake of Fire where, instead of partying, there will be constant weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Separated forever from all things good and all things beautiful, it will be the maximum of all maximum-security prisons. And like at the Hotel California – even if you want to check out, you can never leave. For everyone who has let Lucifer deceive them into believing that Hell will be an endless party, here is the flat-out truth:
Lucifer lied. Again.
Lying (deceiving) is all Lucifer has ever done and all he will continue to do until Jesus puts an end to these evil shenanigans that turn so many of the offspring of Adam and Eve into walking, talking fulfillments of Isaiah 5:20. Shenanigans that dupe people into unwittingly finding themselves among the crowd that is addressed by God, through Isaiah, with the words “Woe unto those.” Being among the crowd that is addressed by God, “Woe unto those,” is not at all a good place to be or a good crowd to be any part of.
To sum up, one of the strongest and also sickest examples of living in the world according to Isaiah 5:20 is the attitude that the deceived offspring of the original couple take toward the tiny little nation of Israel.
Israel is the apple of God’s eye and always will be, no matter how many things the Israelites have done throughout history to displease Him.
God made eternal covenants with Abraham and with Isaac and with Jacob. These eternal covenants are not temporary, have not been revoked, never have they been transferred to the Christian church, or any other church or group or organization of any kind.
The eternal covenants made by Almighty God, the Creator of all life, with Israel, are (please read carefully) ETERNAL.
This eternal covenant originally made with Abram who became Abraham, also had a certain condition that cannot be ignored. God told Abraham that He would bless all who would bless Abraham and his descendants and curse all who would curse Abraham and his descendants. God added that all nations would be blessed because of this covenant (Genesis 12:3).
We know that Isaac was the son of Abraham, and that Jacob was the son of Isaac, and that Jacob had his name changed by God to Israel.
We also know that twelve of the sons of Jacob (Israel) became the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph was Jacob’s only son who did not become a tribe because Joseph had a very different mission assigned to him by the God of Israel. (The story of Joseph begins in Genesis 37.)
The history of the nation of Israel is well chronicled in the Bible and throughout secular history as well. It is well documented that the tribes of Israel were scattered to nations all over the world in 70 A.D. when the Romans destroyed the second temple in Jerusalem. They remained scattered until 1948 when, as a result of the Balfour Declaration of 1917, they were given back the land of Israel, and Jews from all over the world began the Aliyah, the return to Israel.
This turn of events fulfilled certain Old Testament prophecies from long ago.
There are actually at least a couple of dozen verses from various OT Prophets that speak of this: Isaiah 11:11-12, Jeremiah 23:3-8, and Ezekiel 28:25-26 are a few of them.
Fast forward to the year 2024.
Our discussion of Isaiah 5:20 and how it is playing out in these, the last days just before the Rapture, the Seven-year Tribulation, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, looks like this pertaining to Israel.
What Hamas did on October 7, 2023, to the nation and to the people of Israel has drawn and dragged the secular godless, as well as the false-god-worshiping multitudes, into a depth of delusion that is truly staggering and mind-boggling.
It is Isaiah 5:20 on steroids.
It is well known at this point that Hamas committed acts of brutality and cruelty against the people of Israel that are so vile that these acts cannot be classified as anything less than demonic.
It is also well known (to the sane) that Hamas live-streamed these satanic atrocities that they themselves were committing, showing themselves laughing and having fun as they murdered, raped, and kidnapped young adults and tortured and murdered little babies and elderly people in the most horrible ways they could conceive of.
Hamas freely shared these live-stream videos with the world and were proud of it.
Hamas was also cheered for what they had done by the Palestinians in Gaza as well as most of the Muslim world.
In a sane world, every person and every nation on Earth would have rallied against the evil monsters known as Hamas.
But this is not a sane world at this point in time as we travel along the prophetic timeline leading to the Lord’s return.
Nope, this is an Isaiah 5:20 world at its extreme.
Instead of inspiring worldwide sympathy for the Jewish people facing a second Holocaust, the hideous evil acts of Hamas have triggered a worldwide surge in hatred toward Israel and the Jewish people – a massive increase in anti-Semitism not seen since Hitler went on his killing spree. The world is actually blaming Israel for the documented wickedness perpetrated against them by Hamas and sympathizing with the murderers. Many have even gone so far as to deny the very evidence that Hamas live-streamed to the world. Video evidence of them committing their atrocities in real-time.
Not a shred of compassion for those poor women who were repeatedly raped and paraded through the streets of Gaza to be spit on by jeering and cheering crowds, no pity for those kidnapped and some still being held and mistreated daily in hellish living conditions, no concern for the devastated grieving families of the victims, and not a drop of mercy for the elderly who were tortured, or for the infants who had their little throats slit or were melted in microwave ovens.
Like the ovens of Auschwitz, these atrocities need to be kept in the open and not swept under the proverbial rug, lest it happens again. The sick demons of Hamas have bragged that it will happen again and again and again.
Much of the false narrative and lack of empathy toward the Israelites comes from politicians and world leaders talking out of both sides of their mouths. Acting like they understand Israel and its right to fight for survival, while at the same time attempting to assure that Hamas lives on to repeat what they did on Oct.7, and to force a two-state solution on Israel where the Palestinian state will continue to be run by those who are fully committed to the genocide of each and every Jew who walks upon the face of this planet that we call Earth.
This back-stabbing of Israel is led by entities like the U.N. as they falsely draw a moral equivalent between the butchers of Hamas and a democratic nation attempting to survive. Then there are nations such as the United States of America led by basement-dwelling third-term president Barack the Betrayer and his somnambulistic fall-guy puppet Traitor Joe, who pulls double duty as Liar in Chief and as chief liar, and who together are not only twisting the knife that they have helped thrust into the back of Israel, but are also busy bringing the curses outlined in the original covenant between God and Abraham upon themselves, and upon the USA as a nation (Genesis 12:3).
A huge amount of this ramped-up hatred comes from the Islamic world, both Sunni and Shiite, and their well-oiled propaganda machines that portray themselves and the people of Gaza as the victims and vilify Israel and the Jewish people as the oppressors.
How many times does it have to be explained and historically proven that there is not and never has been a nation or a people called Palestine, and that the covenant between The Creator and Abraham regarding the land of Israel precedes by many centuries all of this clamor being manufactured by the descendants of Ishmael and their political cronies in the West.
Does anyone else find it ironic that Muslims and Marxists both employ the tactic of aggressively accusing their enemies of doing what they themselves are doing, and spreading the slander and false witness far and wide?
Another big portion of this sickening hatred for all things Jewish is coming from those who have bought into the propaganda dispensed by both the Muslim world and the Marxist world. Namely, college presidents and professors who have turned a large portion of the younger population into not only useful idiots but also living, breathing examples of Isaiah 5:20.
These naïve young people like to carry signs that say things like “Free Palestine” and “Kill all of the Hostages.” These naïve young tools of Lucifer proudly and with great virtue signaling chant along with the Muslims, “From the river to the sea, all of Palestine will be free.”
These naïve young men and women have no idea what that genocidal chant means and generally cannot even tell you who was in the Civil War, let alone what it was about or who won. These intelligence-challenged young numbskulls who can actually watch the videos of Hamas doing the most demonic things imaginable and then tell themselves and you that this never happened and that it is merely propaganda from far-right extremists.
If ever there was a clear example of what a “useful idiot” looks like, go no further than the leftist-run college campuses of America to get a close-up.
Very old prophecies were given concerning the end times and the entire world turning against Israel without the slightest regard for the covenants God made with Israel or for Israel’s struggle for survival in the face of such overwhelming odds.
The Lord inspired the prophet Zechariah to say these words regarding Israel in the last days:
“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of earth be gathered against it.”
Right now, we live in a world populated by a great many people who have fallen for the twisted, upside-down lies of Lucifer in one way or another.
This has caused these poor lost souls to become exactly like the people Isaiah gives warning to (Woe unto Those) in Chapter 5 and verse 20.
This warning of woe is, more than ever, heavily upon the unrepentant Christ-rejecting populations of the world.
There came a day in the times of Noah, and there came a day in the times of Lot when “Woe unto those” became reality.
Jerusalem is right now and to all nations that “Heavy Stone” and that “Cup of Trembling.”
The “warning of woe” for this generation of Isaiah 5:20 people is right at the doorstep.
The converging prophetic signs tell us that God is about to seal the outer door on the metaphorical Ark and unleash the seven-year storm known as the Tribulation.
Just before He does, He has promised to send an angel with a trumpet and a shout to call His remnant church of believers out of modern-day Sodom.
Just as our Lord comforted Noah and his family by sealing the door to the Ark right before the waters began to flood the earth, and just like Lot and his family were led out of ancient Sodom just before it started to rain down fire and brimstone, Jesus comforts all who long for His calling with these words from His book of Revelation:
“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I will also keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (Revelation 3:10-11).
“Woe unto those who see evil as good and see good as evil” (Isaiah 5:20).
Blessed are they who see good as good and see evil as evil.
Most blessed of all are those who trust in Jesus for their salvation.
Trust in Jesus, for He is the Way and the Truth and the Life, and there is no other name under all of heaven by which one can be saved (John 14:6).
